Decrease (dec / sc2tog)

Chart symbol: two legs joining at the top Counting: makes 1, uses 2.

How to work it

Work two stitches together so they share one top:

  1. Insert into the next stitch, pull up a loop.
  2. Insert into the following stitch, pull up a loop (three loops on hook).
  3. Yarn over, draw through all three.

The INVISIBLE decrease (amigurumi standard): insert under the front loops only of the next two stitches, then complete as one sc. It counts exactly the same; it just hides better in the fabric.
