Post stitches (FPdc / BPdc)
Chart symbol: a stitch symbol with a hook at its base Counting: makes 1, uses 1.
How to work it
Instead of inserting under the top loops, insert the hook around the whole POST (the body) of the stitch below:
- FRONT post: hook goes behind the post from the front (stitch pops toward you).
- BACK post: hook goes in front of the post from behind (stitch recedes).
Counts exactly like the plain stitch; only the working position changes.

- Modern: FPsc, FPhdc, FPdc, FPtr and the BP equivalents.
